10 questions to ask the immam before you convert to Islam

1. As a Muslim, must I now believe that humans all came from Adam and Eve rather than evolving? *
2. Must I also believe that Adam and Eve not only actually existed but were 90 foot tall (60 cubits)? **
3. Must I therefore believe that Adam and Eve's offspring committed incest and that this was allowed by Allah?***
4. Must I believe in the existence of invisible creatures, made of smokeless fire, called jinn?****
5. Must I believe that if my atheist parents die before they accept Allah they will be tortured for an eternity by the God I now worship?
6. As part of my "reward" in Heaven, will I be able to watch the sinners being tortured?
7. Must I accept that a woman's testimony is worth less than a man's?
8. Will I grow to 90 foot tall when I go to Heaven so I won't be swamped by the two 90 foot tall virgins I get to make endless love to?
9. Must I now accept that the punishment of chopping off hands for theft is better for society than any other?
10. Is my primary duty now to Allah above anything and anyone else, including my wife and children?

* "In short, Muslims do not believe that human beings randomly evolved from apes. The life of human beings began with the creation of two people, a male and a female named Adam and Hawwa (Eve)."
**Narrated Abu Huraira:  The Prophet said, "Allah created Adam, making him 60 cubits tall. Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 55, Number 543)

  1. Is the answer to all these questions "Yes"?
How can people take this stuff seriously???

  2. it's called cognitive dissonance, Anon.
you blank out the stuff that doesn't make sense.
We all do it to a certain extent, it's just that intelligent, well-educated and well-informed Muslims have to do it A LOT more than the rest of us if they're going to continue with the charade of a belief in a super-being who apparently manifests the same pathetic jealousies as the rest of us.

    1. sorry - should have answered your first question!
Yes - Muslims do have to believe in all of the above.
At least my convert friend does.
If there are Muslims out there who'd like to disagree, please tell us!

    2. sorry am a Muslim and i say your wrong you don't need to believe that 3. Must I therefore believe that Adam and Eve's offspring committed incest and that this was allowed by Allah?*** because there was no incest at that days it was totally a marriage and in Islam incest is forbidden by Islam and is proved in the quraan if you would like to see you must first to make your oppositions to learn Arabic and understand it because arabic word has many meanings not like a english word has 2 or 3 meanings at most

    3. After meeting a hafiz and explaining exactly why I rationally cannot believe in Islam anymore (and if I did I would be a hyprocrite), he gave me the same conclusion - that I need to learn Arabic properly. This just brings up so much more issues - there are people who know arabic better than I ever will in my lifetime, but even they cannot answer these simple questions. I know exactly the mindset Muslims are in, it makes sense considering what the consequences of leaving are (whether its consciously or subconsciously). I strongly suggest all Muslims assess the claims Islam presents objectively, with an unbiased mind

  3. @Spinoza ...nice compilation...let me add some more questions

    1) Must I believe that people who do consensual sex without marriage should be given 100 lashes and stoned to death if married [to someone else] ?

    2) (For Women) Must I believe that angels will curse me if i refuse to have sex with my husband ?

    3) (For Women) Must I believe that my husband can keep 3 more wives + unlimited concubines ?

    4) Must I believe that those who leave "Religion of peace" should be beheaded ?

    5) Must I believe that those who criticize/insult "Religion of peace" should be killed brutally ?

    Azdaha ExMuslim

    1. Thanks, Azdaha.
To others reading this, I thoroughly recommend Azdaha's post on his blog regarding Islamic rules pertaining to sex outside marriage.

    2. @Spinoza

Thanks. And I am so glad to see that because your one friend converted so you started a blog to analyze the claims. How he is doing ? Do you have discussion with him regarding Islam ? He still believes that there are scientific miracles in Quran ?

    3. Yes, I'm afraid he still maintains there are scientific miracles in the Qur'an - although he is less enthusiastic about Maurice Bucaille (thank goodness)

    4. oh..ok at least hope is still there :)

do you discuss with him personally each miracle ?

    5. Your new post about rotating earth and mountains can show him clearly that how easily muslims lie and deceive to prove that somehow quran has miracles...the verse quoted by that website was totally wrongly translated and out of context as you proved......

  4. Why is any of this this more strange than believing Jesus and God are the same person but Jesus was also the son of God?

    1. I don't really think it is, Anon.
Not being a Christian i don't have to believe in any of it.
The only reason I concentrate on Islam is that I I suspect more vulnerable Westerners are being hoodwinked into it than into other cults.

  5. Download the following pdf book . Its written by Former muslims and it exposes miracles of Quran in great detail from every angle. Its a must have for everyone who gets engaged in discussions with muslims on scientific miracles
